COMMUNITY ACTION SERVICES AND FOOD BANK
JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Salary: $8.86 per hour.
Schedule: 9:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. Part time, no benefits.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the warehouse supervisor, performs the following tasks:
- Greet donors with professionalism whenever they come to the food bank with donations.
- Assist donors with any question they may have about Community Action Services and Food Bank.
- Provide receipts to donors indicating donations made.
- Assist donors and volunteers by directing them to appropriate personnel if needed.
- Answering the telephone and routing calls for the agency.
- Perform clerical duties, which may include copies, routing telephone messages, special projects, etc.
- Provide assistant to the warehouse supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
FACTORS:
- Mental application: requires moderate to heavy mental concentration to complete above duties.
- Responsibility for contacts: involves moderate to heavy contact with public and other agencies.
- Working conditions: requires light physical effort; surroundings are typical of the average warehouse routine: some lifting required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
Graduation from high school and/or GED equivalent.
- Six months experience in office/secretarial employment preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic telephone skills.
- Ability to type 30-40 words per minute.
- Ability to meet the general public and other agency visitors with confidence and professionalism.
- Ability to effectively apply general office procedures and principles.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to defuse stressful situations.
- Experience with low-income people helpful.
- Be willing and able to work some weekends and/or extended hours if needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Under the direct supervision of the Pantry Supervisor and of the Food Bank Coordinator)
Strictly adheres to all CAS policies and procedures.
- Prepares food orders for clients who qualify for food assistance
- Sorts donations, makes food boxes, cleans fresh produce, prepares senior sacks, and USDA sacks.
- Performs basic computer operations.
- Assures that work areas are organized, clean, safe, and clutter free.
- Assists with tracking food carts to prevent loss.
- Documents donation and disbursements accurately.
- Presents a positive image to donors, volunteers, clients, and staff.
- Answers incoming phone calls in an efficient, positive, and professional manner.
- Works closely with other team members to maintain a smooth and efficient operating program.
- Assist in working with and monitoring volunteers.
- Submits all documentation in a timely manner (time sheets, discard logs, mileage, etc.)
- Attends staff and training meetings as directed.
- Performs side walk and snow removal, trash removal, yard work, and parking lot clean up as needed.
- Help organize and accomplish successful food drives
- Be willing and available for extra assignments as needed or requested.
- Obey all traffic laws and be a safe courteous driver.
- Maintain a clean, well-serviced and safe truck.
- Maintain a neat and thorough log book.
- Maintain a cheerful and courteous service relationship with store personnel, school officials, volunteers, donors, clients, staff, and administrators.
FACTORS:
- Able to lift 100 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Must be honest, fair, and straightforward in handling and disbursing donations.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.

- Able to become forklift and food handlers certified.
- Ability to speak Spanish will be very helpful.

Under the direction of the Housing Coordinator performs the following tasks:
Assist the Housing Coordinator and Counselors to implement the Home Buyer & Mortgage Counseling Program:
- Sets counseling and class appointments over the phone
- Helps with client data input and grant reporting
- Follow up with clients on counseling outcomes
- Assists with the setup for the Home Buyer class and other classes ( Prepares packets, handouts and classroom.)
- Assists in answering the telephone
- Refer clients to other agencies as appropriate
- Responsible that handouts, forms and other supplies are organized and replaced.
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Background in mortgage lending or in real estate preferred
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work with persons from a wide variety of backgrounds

We are looking for interested individuals Nationwide, who are experienced in B2B sales. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direct supervision of the Programs Manager and Energy Specialist:
Determines eligibility for the HEAT Program based on written policy,
Interviews applicants for all documentation and income as required by policy,
Calculates income and establishes HEAT payment based on a written formula
Refers clients to community resources based on their need i.e. Community Action Services, Weatherization, DWS, etc.
Maintains a good working relationship with all public utility companies,
Handles client questions and problems relating to HEAT program,
Completes and submits all necessary documentation (time and mileage), required for payment,
Attends regular and other assigned training meetings
Must be dependable, trustworthy and a self starter
Other duties as assigned
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Graduation and one year experience in an area related to the above duties and/or
Combination of education and experience substituting on a year by year basis.
