Food Pantry Worker/Truck Driver

SALARY: $9.56 Hour—Full Time with Benefits

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Under the direct supervision of the Pantry Supervisor and of the Food Bank Coordinator)

  • Strictly adheres to all CAS policies and procedures.
  • Greet donors and volunteers at warehouse entrance and give assistance as needed.
  • Prepares food orders for clients who qualify for food assistance
  • Sorts donations, makes food boxes, cleans fresh produce, prepares senior sacks, and USDA sacks.
  • Performs basic computer operations.
  • Assures that work areas are organized, clean, safe, and clutter free.
  • Assists with tracking food carts to prevent loss.
  • Documents donation and disbursements accurately.
  • Presents a positive image to donors, volunteers, clients, and staff.
  • Answers incoming phone calls in an efficient, positive, and professional manner.
  • Works closely with other team members to maintain a smooth and efficient operating program.
  • Assist in working with and monitoring volunteers.
  • Submits all documentation in a timely manner (time sheets, discard logs, mileage, etc.)
  • Attends staff and training meetings as directed.
  • Performs side walk and snow removal, trash removal, yard work, and parking lot clean up as needed.
  • Help organize and accomplish successful food drives
  • Be willing and available for extra assignments as needed or requested.
  • Obey all traffic laws and be a safe courteous driver.
  • Maintain a clean, well-serviced and safe truck.
  • Maintain a neat and thorough log book.
  • Maintain a cheerful and courteous service relationship with store personnel, school officials, volunteers, donors, clients, staff, and administrators.

FACTORS:

  • Able to lift 100 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Must be honest, fair, and straightforward in handling and disbursing donations.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to work under stressful situations
  • Ability to work in high volume periods of activity on any given day or time of the year.
  • Able to work as a team player.
  • Willing to follow directions
  • Must be dependable, motivated, and a self starter, flexible and able to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Have a valid Utah driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Able to become forklift and food handlers certified.
  • Ability to speak Spanish helpful.
